We’ve loved and nurtured this lovely lady for the last 13 years.

Aside from the usual maintenance, in 2014 we gave Colette new:

steering and throttle cables

valves and seats(see pictures for the easy valve removal jig I made up)

fuel lines and filter

prop shaft and bush

stuffing box

ground and balanced the prop

shaft to engine bush and fittings

all new engine mounts

Recently we gave her a new exhaust elbow and fuel filter.

She started first go every time until I got sick and couldn’t give her her weekly run for about 3 months. I haven’t been able to get her going since. She turns over easily with plenty of life left in the battery but I suspect compression problems and figure she’s due for some new rings.

I fiddled with the fuel and gave her a new fuel filter but still no go. I’m afraid she’s become a bit beyond me so we’ve decided to pass her on to someone else.

She’s been a wonderful boat. And even more so since we got a brand new trailer for her 2 and a half years ago. So good to bring her home to tinker with anytime. She sits really well on the trailer with not a worry at all on the highway.

Colette is registered to carry 8 adults and you don’t need a boat licence because her top speed is just under the boat licence limit.

She’s easy to drive, wonderful to fish out of, and especially, to go prawning(I take the side panel off for that – easy peasy).

The huge duckboard I made for her created so much extra space.

She runs on the smell of an oily rag. We’ve cruised all day and still had fuel in the tank.

The previous owners used to take her outside fishing all the time but I’ve only ever chugged around the lake.

We were going to detail her immaculately and put a worthy price on her but with her not running, well that changed all our plans. It could be an easy fix that I’m not seeing or she might need expert attention. We don’t know and so we can’t ask too much for her. So we’ve given her a good tidy up and put a very low price on her for a quick sale to someone handy.

Her anti-fouling will be good through 2022.

There are lots of extras as can be seen in the pictures, including the security locks and chain (fishing rods not included).

She even comes with the old stainless steel tiller if you want to easily re-mount that.

There’s a lot to like about Colette: her near new trailer, the fantastic duckboard, her self-draining walk-around decks, the no need for a licence and the fact that she’s licenced for an incredible 8 adults. She’s really comfortable to use and the shaded roof makes such a difference. She really is an endearing old girl that has filled our lives with so many joyful days on the water.

Be quick because she’s listed elsewhere too.
